After an injection of human growth hormone, the level of sugar in the blood always rises. High blood sugar level leads to diabetes. Let’s take a closer look at how this happens and what insulin is.

Why do I need to take insulin during HGH cycle
Since you are bringing human growth hormone into your body from the outside, its concentration becomes much higher compared to the concentration for an ordinary person. After the injection, your blood sugar level rises. And this level is much higher than that of an ordinary person. In such cases, insulin is necessary to lower a blood sugar level.
Insulin in the human body is produced by the pancreas. But since you take human growth hormone, it has to work to the maximum every day (beyond its capabilities), due to large peaks in blood sugar. Over time, if you do not help your pancreas, it will simply become exhausted and stop producing the proper amount of insulin at all. And this will lead to a disease called DIABETES.
To prevent this from happening, on the cycle of human growth hormone, insulin is used from the outside, in the form of injections. The amount of insulin you should use needs to be calculated.
How much insulin do I need to use during HGH cycle
The norm of sugar in human blood is 3.3 – 5.3 millimoles per litre (mmol/L). Values above 5.3 mmol/L are excessive for the pancreas.
When blood sugar level rises above 5.3 mmol/L, insulin should be used at the rate of 5 units + 1 unit for each additional mmol above 5.3 mmol.
And so, for a general understanding, we will analyze a few examples:
1) You have given an injection of growth hormone 10 units. The concentration of sugar in the blood increased to 7.3 mmol per litre. This is two units higher than the allowable 5.3 mmol/L (7.3 – 5.3 = 2). So, to lower the sugar level, you need to inject insulin in the amount of 5 IU + 2 IU = 7 IU.
2) You made an injection of growth hormone 10 IU, and then ate some food. The concentration of sugar in the blood increased to 10.3 mmol/L. This is four units higher than the allowed 5.3 mmol/L (10.3 – 5.3 = 4). So, to lower the sugar level, you need to inject insulin in the amount of 5 IU + 4 IU = 9 IU.
3) In the morning you woke up and made an injection of growth hormone 10 units. As you know, the level of sugar in the morning is low, about 3.3 mmol/L. After the injection, your blood sugar level will rise by two units, to an acceptable 5.3 mmol/L. Therefore, in this case, the additional injection of insulin is not required.
But of course, all these examples have an error. In order to correctly and accurately determine the level of sugar in the blood, there is a special device called a glucometer.
Glucometer. How to use and where to buy
A glucometer is a device for monitoring a blood sugar level. This device is sold in a pharmacy, freely available. You can also buy it on any marketplaces such as Amazon. The kit includes the glucometer itself, special strips and a piercing pen. The cost of the device is about 20 – 30 USD.
With the help of a piercing pen, you need to pierce any finger on your hand, then the blood must be applied to the strip. After that, the device will show you the level of sugar in the blood.
Types of insulin. How much does it cost and where to buy it
Insulin is sold in a pharmacy in glass bottles, ready-made. Insulin is not expensive. For 10 ml (100 units), you will pay approximately 5 – 10 USD.
According to the speed of action, insulin is divided into:
1) Rapid. Begins to act 5 – 10 minutes after the injection. The total duration of action is 3 – 5 hours.
2) Short. Begins to act 30 minutes after the injection. The total duration of action is 8 hours.
3) Long. Begins to act 90 minutes after the injection. The total duration of action is 24 hours.
Athletes who do not have diabetes should use rapid insulin during the cycle of human growth hormone. It is best for lowering a blood sugar level. In extreme cases, the use of short insulin is allowed.
How to take insulin
Insulin injections are made subcutaneously with an insulin syringe. Where you put insulin also depends on the speed of its action. The fastest absorption of insulin into the blood takes place if you put injections in the stomach or hands. The slowest is in the legs and buttocks.
Athletes who do not have diabetes put injections subcutaneously in the stomach during the human growth hormone cycle.
